A 60-year-old woman, Bevi, from Krishna Nagar, has been arrested by Amritsar’s D Division police station on charges of theft. The police recovered stolen items, including a gold necklace, a pair of gold earrings, and Rs 1,06,000 in cash from her possession.
The theft was reported by Kapil Goel, a resident of BK Dutt Gate, Amritsar, who noticed the disappearance of valuable gold jewellery and cash from his home. The investigation revealed that Bevi, who worked as a domestic helper in Goel’s residence, was behind the crime.
With further inquiry, the police seized the stolen gold necklace, earrings, and cash from Bevi. Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar, along with ASI Davinderjit Singh and their team, led the investigation. The police have assured a detailed probe, and legal proceedings are underway against the accused.
