Ratlam, October 17 – In a breakthrough operation, Raoti police arrested two adults and two minors for their involvement in a series of thefts across Raoti area in Ratlam district, recovering stolen goods worth approximately Rs1.06 lakh.
The investigation began after a string of thefts were reported earlier this month:
On October 2, miscreants broke into the house of Ravi Damar in Ranisingh village by smashing a wall with an iron rod. They allegedly threatened the family and escaped with ₹60,000 in cash and silver jewelry including bangles, anklets, and a mangalsutra.
On October 5, Nilesh Soni’s shop was looted after thieves lifted the shutter and stole Rs7,000 in cash and silver earrings.
On October 9, two kiosks belonging to Mukesh Maliwad and Sunil Machar were broken into, with the culprits making off with imitation jewellery, clothes, and other goods.
A special investigation team, led by Raoti Police Station In-Charge Deepak Mandloi, and aided by cyber and fingerprint units, conducted field investigations and collected forensic evidence from the crime scenes.
Their sustained efforts led to the arrest of two adult suspects—Mukesh and Rakesh, both from Ranisingh village. Upon questioning, the duo confessed and revealed they were assisted by two juveniles in committing the thefts.
Based on their statements, police recovered:
Rs22,000 in cash
Silver ornaments and imitation jewelry
Clothing and other stolen goods
The total recovery is valued at Rs1.06 lakh. The case is under further investigation, particularly regarding the role of receivers and possible additional accomplices.
