4 Ex-IHOP Workers Arrested in Thomasville Theft Case

$21K embezzlement uncovered, investigation ongoing

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Four former employees of the Thomasville IHOP have been arrested following an investigation into an extended case of employee theft and embezzlement.

According to the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), the arrested individuals are:

Dawn Russell, 41

Dion Wright, 37

Gernesha Taplin, 20

Keyairah Burton, 19

The investigation began after IHOP corporate management filed a complaint with TCSO. The complaint followed an internal review prompted by an employee’s concern.

Investigators revealed that the theft had been ongoing over a period of time. According to incident reports, approximately $21,000 in fraudulent activity was identified, dating back to May 18, 2025.

As a result, all four individuals were taken into custody and now face criminal charges related to the theft.

TCSO stated the case remains an active investigation, with additional information being collected and reviewed.
