In a major crackdown on land fraud, Badgaon police in Udaipur have arrested four individuals for illegally selling 10 bighas of agricultural land by impersonating the real owner. The arrests were made under the direction of District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal.
The case came to light after Badamibai, wife of Motilal Suthar and a resident of Rakhampura Bedwas, filed a complaint stating that her registered agricultural land had been fraudulently transferred. She alleged that another woman posed as her and executed a fake sale deed in favor of Arjun Singh, son of Bhopal Singh. Two men — Gajendra and Hamersingh — had signed the deed as witnesses.
Under the supervision of ASP Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer Kailash Chandra Boriwal, a special investigation team led by SHO Puran Singh was formed. The team gathered strong evidence, identified the key players, and arrested all four involved in the scam.
The arrested individuals are:
Surjabai, wife of late Bagdiram (Savna, Kurabad): Posed as Badamibai and signed the fraudulent documents.
Shankarlal, son of late Devilal (Kanpur, Pratap Nagar): Brought the impersonator into the deal. Has two prior fraud cases.
Kamlesh Das, son of Mohandas (Azad Mohalla, Kurabad): Arranged for the witness Hamersingh to support the fraudulent transaction.
Rameshgiri, son of Ganeshgiri (Amarpura Khalsa, Kheroda): Falsely claimed to be a relative of Badamibai. Has five prior cases, including fraud, assault, theft, and NDPS Act violations.
All four confessed to the crime during interrogation. Police are continuing the investigation and searching for additional accomplices linked to the land scam.
