3 Houston Men Arrested for ATM Robbery in Warr Acres

John Perry, Cortez Martin, and Tyrone Jones caught after ATM attack

by Sophia Bennett

The Warr Acres Police Department (WAPD) arrested three men from Houston for robbing an ATM and assaulting an employee who was servicing the machine on December 11. The suspects, identified as 19-year-old John Perry, 22-year-old Cortez Martin, and 33-year-old Tyrone Jones, were taken into custody after the robbery at a Bank of America.

Around 9:26 a.m. on that morning, the victim, who was servicing the ATM, reported that two masked individuals approached him, demanding money. When the victim refused, the suspects began beating him. After the assault, the suspects fled on foot.

The Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) assisted in the investigation by reviewing FLOCK cameras in the area, which helped locate a rental vehicle from Houston. Knowing that crews from Texas had been linked to similar crimes recently, officers began searching for the vehicle. The suspects were soon found on I-35, where they were detained.

WAPD obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, which led to the discovery of multiple items related to the robbery. All three suspects were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail and face charges of robbery and conspiracy.

This case remains under investigation as police work to determine if these individuals are connected to other similar crimes in the area.
