DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. — Three men were arrested Friday following a felony traffic stop involving a stolen Dodge Charger, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).
Early Friday morning, deputies received information from Hillsborough County about a stolen white Dodge Charger traveling through DeSoto County. Deputies also learned a black Dodge Charger was following the stolen vehicle.
Using construction barricades, deputies initiated a felony stop on both cars. The driver of the white Charger, Sencer Francisco Travieso, exited without incident and was taken into custody.
The driver of the black Charger, Danrell Timothy St Vil, and passenger Jaquan Kymani Hugh initially refused to exit. St Vil attempted to flee by ramming the car through the barricades before both were arrested.
The white Charger was confirmed stolen. The black Charger, while not stolen, contained stolen parts and modifications. Deputies found guns, marijuana, and several key fobs during a search warrant of the black vehicle.
Charges:
Travieso: grand theft auto, possession of marijuana
St Vil: aggravated assault on law enforcement (using vehicle), grand theft auto, resisting arrest with violence, unlawful use of two-way communication device
Hugh: grand theft auto, resisting arrest without violence
DCSO said further charges may be added as the investigation continues.
