Police are offering a £20,000 reward in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Mahad Abdi Mohamed, 27, who was shot in the head in north London earlier this year.
The attack took place on Waverley Road, Tottenham, at around 8.45pm on 20 March. Authorities believe Mohamed was the victim of mistaken identity.
Reward Announcement
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the reward will be funded by the Crimestoppers charity. This comes after four adult men arrested in connection with the incident in March and April were released on bail.
DCI Rebecca Woodsford, leading the investigation, appealed directly to anyone with information about the shooting:
“The loss of Mahad weighs heavy every day, but it will be particularly difficult for his loved ones to carry throughout their first festive season without him. There is someone out there who knows what happened that night, and we are urging those individuals to find it in their heart to come forward. It could be exactly what we need to locate those responsible.”
Family Statement
At the time of the attack, Mohamed’s family said:
“Our family is grieving the profound loss of a son, a brother, a father and a friend. We kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time. We are grateful for your understanding and support.”
Police continue to urge members of the public who may have information about the incident to come forward. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
