HENDERSON, Ky — A 19-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday morning following a high-speed chase in Vanderburgh County involving a stolen car.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted around 1:25 a.m. by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to watch for a red 2020 Dodge Challenger with a Georgia license plate traveling south on U.S. 41 toward Evansville.

Deputies located the vehicle near Lynch Road and U.S. 41 and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Autumn Maxwell, fled at speeds reportedly reaching 90 MPH.

The pursuit ended safely near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Columbia after Maxwell nearly lost control and came to a stop. She was taken into custody without further incident.

Maxwell later admitted to stealing the Dodge Challenger. Authorities say no injuries were reported during the pursuit.
