CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — An 18-year-old has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Clifton Park.
Simon Brault, 20, was stabbed Saturday on Beresford Road. He was rushed to Albany Medical Center for surgery but succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities arrested Jaiden A. Ildefonso, 18, on Sunday and charged him with intentionally causing Brault’s death. Officials confirmed that Ildefonso and Brault were relatives, though the exact nature of their relationship remains unclear.
Ildefonso was arraigned before Judge Robert Rybak at Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail awaiting further proceedings.
Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo expressed condolences, saying, “My heart is heavy for the Brault family, and they are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they find some comfort in the swift arrest made possible by our dedicated road patrol and Criminal Investigations Unit.”
