17-Year-Old Hector Garcia Arrested for Vehicle Theft in Baton Rouge

Garcia crashes while fleeing police after truck theft

A 17-year-old, identified as Hector Garcia, was arrested in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, April 15, for stealing a vehicle. The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a call about the theft of a Mockler Beverage company truck. With assistance from Mockler Beverage, police tracked the stolen vehicle to the vicinity of Sherwood Forest and Old Hammond Highway.

Garcia, refusing to stop for officers during a traffic stop, crashed the stolen truck into a ditch near the 14000 block of Old Hammond Highway. He was taken into custody and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Garcia faces charges of auto theft and aggravated flight from an officer.
