AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a mail carrier in Augusta, authorities announced.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Marshal’s Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Darrion Antwon Williams on March 12, 2025. He was taken into custody at Cedarwood Apartments on Richmond Hill Road West.

Williams, a resident of the Apple Valley Subdivision, faces charges of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Authorities previously arrested Danny Lee Parker, who was 16 at the time of the incident on December 17, 2024. Parker, now 17, has since been transferred from the Regional Youth Detention Center to the Richmond County Jail and will be prosecuted in Superior Court under Georgia’s “Seven Deadly Sins” law.

Incident Details
The robbery occurred on November 13, 2024, at 4:55 p.m. at 3461 Jonathan Circle.

The victim, a mail carrier, reported that a suspect dressed in black with a face mask ran up and grabbed his arm while delivering mail.

Additional Arrests
In connection to the investigation, authorities also charged two adults:

Chavonne Thomas, 35, Williams’ mother, was charged with giving false statements to law enforcement.
Carl Gant, 32, Williams’ uncle, was charged with harboring or concealing a fugitive.
