A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 34-year-old Priscilla Danielle Hallihan in Port LaBelle, Florida. The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home Saturday night at approximately 11 p.m. and discovered Hallihan unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
Hallihan was reportedly sitting on a couch in the living room when she was struck by the bullet. Deputies said the suspect was seen standing approximately 15 feet away from the house in the backyard. Despite being rushed to Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, Hallihan was pronounced dead.
The victim leaves behind four children. Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden called the death a “senseless murder” and expressed condolences to the victim’s family, urging respect for their privacy during this difficult time.
The following morning, deputies arrested 17-year-old Antonio Mario Arenivar in connection with Hallihan’s death. He faces a range of charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. Arenivar was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice Facility as the investigation continues.
