11 Arrested in Guwahati for Involvement in Large Vehicle Theft Racket

Dispur Police recover 13 stolen bikes, arrest thieves including those from Manipur.

In a major operation against a large vehicle theft racket, Dispur Police in Guwahati, Assam recovered 13 stolen bikes and arrested 11 thieves, including several individuals from Manipur.

According to officials, Dispur Police also apprehended the linkman, who played a significant role in the racket from Goalpara. The investigation revealed that the linkman coordinated the transfer of stolen bikes from Assam to a Manipur-based theft network through a local intermediary.

The arrested individuals include Gaingamlung Golmei and Heibokmayum Monouwar from Thoubal, Manipur; Inamul Ali from Rangia; Nk Naga Naomi, Raju Sankhare, Leivon Sangte Kom, Muhammad Akbar, and M Nemneithem Haokip from Tengnoupal, Manipur; Lunjapao Doungel from Churachandpur, Manipur; Jangminthang Haokip from Kangpokpi, Manipur; and Paomoija Haokip from Senapati, Manipur.

This crackdown has led to the dismantling of a vehicle theft network operating across Assam and Manipur.
