Z’nobia Spears Arrested for Theft and Fraud at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell

A former employee of Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell, Z’nobia Spears, 28, of Jersey City, is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing a check from a resident and committing fraud. The incident was reported to West Caldwell police on September 14, 2023, when a check went missing from the facility, prompting an investigation led by Detective Potucek.

Through their investigation, authorities discovered that Spears, who had recently been hired at the facility, was responsible for taking the missing check. Further inquiries revealed that she not only stole the check but also accessed the victim’s credit card information, resulting in fraudulent transactions that totaled over $4,000.

Spears has been charged with theft, forgery, identity theft, and trafficking in personal information. She is set to appear in Superior Court for her pending case.
