A significant development has occurred in the murder investigation of Donald Neece, whose body was discovered last week in Mobile Bay. Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Zachri Frazer, a Jamaican national, in Marion County, Florida, on January 30th.
It was nearly a week since the body of 33-year-old Neece was discovered in the waters of Mobile Bay. The investigation initially suggested foul play, as the scene indicated a homicide. On January 29th, traffic on the Bayway came to a halt as law enforcement agencies began investigating the case.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Frazer had been living in Mobile recently, but after allegedly committing the murder, he took Neece’s vehicle and fled to Florida. Law enforcement in Marion County near Ocala spotted the vehicle, prompting a brief chase before Frazer was apprehended.
Frazer is no stranger to law enforcement, as he has a criminal history in Florida. In November 2023, he was arrested and convicted of criminal mischief after destroying a gate and causing damage to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment door. He was placed on probation for that case.
Frazer also faced charges in October 2023 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an argument turned violent. In that instance, Frazer allegedly threatened the victim with a knife over a cell phone dispute. He had been placed on another 12-month probation in that case.
Now, Frazer faces his most serious charge yet, as he awaits extradition back to Baldwin County, Alabama, where he will stand trial for the murder of Donald Neece.
