SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Authorities in Sevier County have arrested Yuanbing Zhou, a 47-year-old man, after he allegedly attempted to defraud a victim of thousands of dollars.
On September 19, deputies responded to a residence on Kerr Road to investigate a reported online scam. The victim had been directed to withdraw $45,000 in cash and return home for the money to be collected.
Zhou was apprehended during a traffic stop after deputies received a description of the suspect’s vehicle. He has been charged with felony criminal conspiracy and is currently held in the Sevier County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
