An arrest warrant has been issued for Xander Phoenix, a 52-year-old former resident of New Westminster, who faces two forgery-related charges following a lengthy fraud investigation by Kelowna RCMP.
Phoenix is accused of providing medical assessments to clients in Kelowna while impersonating a psychologist, despite not being properly registered as one in British Columbia. RCMP have charged him with one count of causing a person to use forged documents and one count of forgery.
Authorities are urging Phoenix to contact the RCMP to address the outstanding warrants. They are also asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Phoenix, who once went by the name “Doctor Pat,” was the subject of a public safety notice in 2021 from the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, warning that he was never registered to practice as a psychologist in the province.
In addition to the forgery charges, Phoenix has faced serious accusations, including sexual misconduct by a patient. Two parents also filed police reports alleging Phoenix charged them $3,000 for autism assessments that he was not qualified to perform.
RCMP continue to investigate the case, and further updates will be shared as available.
