Woman Defrauded of ₹19.99 Lakh in Fake Government Job Scam

A 31-year-old woman has filed a complaint with the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station alleging that she was defrauded of Rs19,99,255 by two individuals who promised her a government job. The accused, Sunil Namdev Gadkar and Kiran Sunil Gadkar, both residents of Ambegaon, are accused of luring the victim into a fraudulent scheme that lasted for several months, beginning in July 2023.

According to police reports, the accused couple initially gained the victim’s trust by presenting themselves as reliable intermediaries who could secure her a government job. Over time, the victim was convinced to transfer large sums of money to the accused, with the promise that it was part of the process to secure the position. In total, the victim was swindled out of nearly Rs20 lakh.

As the weeks passed without any job offer materializing, the woman became suspicious and realized that she had been cheated. The fraudsters failed to deliver on their promise, and upon realizing the scam, the victim immediately filed a police complaint at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station.
