Woman Arrested in Connection to Leesville Package Thefts, Another Sought for Questioning

LEESVILLE, La. (KPLC) — A woman has been arrested, and another is being sought for questioning, following a series of package thefts in the Leesville area.

On December 6, Summer Stricklen, 27, of Leesville, was arrested on three counts of theft. The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO) accused her of stealing packages from several apartment complexes, including Sycamore Point Apartment Homes, Timber Ridge Apartments, and Country Manor Apartments.

Detective David Vance of VPSO stated that Shelby Jane Johnson, of New Llano, is also wanted for questioning regarding the thefts. Vance urged anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts to contact him at 337-238-1311.

Stricklen’s arrest comes as part of ongoing investigations into a rise in package thefts from the area, and authorities continue to look for leads in connection to Johnson’s involvement.
