Woman and Boyfriend Arrested for Murder of Mother-in-Law in Kandamangalam

In a shocking crime on the eve of Deepavali, a 22-year-old woman and her boyfriend were arrested by Kandamangalam police for allegedly murdering her mother-in-law by burning her alive. The crime unfolded in N.R. Palayam, Kandamangalam, and was uncovered after an extensive investigation.

The woman, identified as Swetha, reportedly conspired with her boyfriend, Sathish Kumar, to commit the horrific act. According to the police, the motive behind the crime was a personal dispute, although further details are yet to be disclosed.

The deceased, Rani, was found burned alive in a tragic incident that occurred shortly before the Deepavali festival. The police investigation began after a complaint was lodged by Rani’s younger son, who expressed suspicions about the circumstances of his mother’s death.

After several days of inquiry and evidence gathering, the authorities apprehended both Swetha and Sathish Kumar, who have been charged with the brutal murder of Rani. The police confirmed the arrest on Friday, November 15, 2024.
