WILMINGTON, NC — Ulysses Jaheim Page, a 22-year-old Wilmington man, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges related to being a felon in possession of a firearm and his involvement in a gang-related shooting, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina announced on Thursday.
According to court records, Page, a validated member of the Bloods street gang, was the backseat passenger in a vehicle stopped by the Wilmington Police Department on May 4, 2024. The driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for a firearms offense. During the stop, officers discovered a stolen firearm at Page’s feet. A DNA swab taken from the weapon confirmed Page’s DNA, leading to his conviction.
Page’s sentence also reflects his involvement in a gang-related shooting that occurred on April 27, 2023 at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington. Members of the 720 Gangster Disciples had gathered at the gravesite of a deceased gang leader for a balloon release when a vehicle arrived, and four individuals exited and opened fire, shooting 28 rounds into the crowd. One person was injured in the attack.
In response, members of the 720 Gangster Disciples fired back, discharging 29 shots. Investigators later identified Page as one of the shooters involved in the incident.
Page’s actions, which contributed to both the firearm possession charge and the gang-related shooting, resulted in his 15-year prison sentence, marking a significant consequence for his criminal activity in the Wilmington area.
