William McCoy Arrested After Allegedly Holding Wife Hostage

William Ace McCoy, 33, of Bangor Township, Michigan, was arrested after allegedly holding his wife hostage and threatening to kill deputies during a violent incident over the weekend. On Monday, McCoy was arraigned on seven charges, including unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to commit a felony, and two counts of felonious assault.

The situation began Friday night when McCoy’s father called authorities, fearing his son would harm his wife. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check and personal protection order violation complaint. McCoy had previously been required to move out of the family home following a protection order filed by his wife in April.

After the standoff, McCoy faced additional charges for assaulting officers and interfering with electronic communications. His arraignment in South Haven has sparked concern for the safety of those involved.
