William Gould Jailed for Three Years Over Business Burglaries and Theft

William Gould, 48, from East Prescot Road in Liverpool, has been sentenced to three years in prison for a series of business burglaries, thefts, and assaults. Gould, who pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary, four shop thefts, and assault, was sentenced to a total of 32 months for the burglaries, with additional time served for the thefts and assaults.

The offences took place between May and July of the previous year, with Gould committing burglaries at the Express by Holiday Inn hotel and Slaters Menswear in Liverpool city centre. He also stole from stores like Forbidden Planet and Waterstones on several occasions.

Detective Inspector Chris Carlin stated that business thefts can severely impact livelihoods and expressed the force’s commitment to tackling such crimes. Gould’s sentence sends a clear message about the consequences of committing these types of offences, with the authorities continuing to collaborate with local businesses to prevent similar crimes in the future.
