West Kameng Police Seize 163.2 kg of Cannabis, Arrest Two Peddlers

In a significant operation, the Balemu Police team of West Kameng district arrested two individuals for drug trafficking on October 23. The police seized 163.2 kg of cannabis, valued at Rs 13.04 lakhs, from the arrested peddlers.

Acting on specific intelligence, the police team tracked the movements of the suspects through the Lipakphu jungles, leading to the apprehension of Jintu Daimari and Mintu Daimary, residents of Udalguri, Assam. The two were found carrying five gunny bags containing the cannabis.

In addition to the drugs, police also recovered two walkie-talkies, three mobile phones, and a four-wheeler from the peddlers. The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are underway to unravel their broader drug trafficking network.
