Zion, IL – An 18-year-old Waukegan man on probation for a violent armed robbery has been arrested again—this time for robbing a woman of her phone while threatening to “blast her” in Zion.
The Zion Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Bethesda Boulevard around 6:20 p.m. on March 11 after the victim’s mother called 911 to report an armed robbery.
Incident Details
According to Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Cannon, the 20-year-old victim had been trying to retrieve her stolen key fobs from Isack A. Woods—a friend of her sister. The victim had taken Woods’ phone as collateral, leading to a dispute over missing money.
The argument escalated when Woods allegedly pushed the woman and threatened her, saying he “was gonna blast her”. He then stole her iPhone 14 Pro, valued at $1,200, and fled.
Arrest & Prior Criminal Record
Police spotted Woods’ Toyota leaving the scene and arrested him. He was still in possession of the woman’s key fobs and admitted to taking her phone but refused to disclose its location.
At the time of the incident, Woods was on second-chance probation for a May 2024 armed robbery in Round Lake, where he and three others jumped a victim, flashed a gun, and stole a phone.
Legal Proceedings
Due to his probation status, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain Woods without bond, which was granted by Judge Michael Nerheim.
Woods is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 1.
