Washington, D.C. Woman Pleads Guilty to Role in Inside-Job Robberies at Chinatown Walgreens

WASHINGTON, D.C. — London Teeter, 21, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty today to her involvement in a series of inside-job robberies at the Chinatown Walgreens. The robberies, which took place between July 2023 and February 2024, involved Teeter and her co-conspirators stealing over $28,000 in cash and firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Court documents reveal that Teeter, as a store manager, had intimate knowledge of the store’s cash transfer schedules, which enabled her to assist in planning the robberies. On each occasion, a masked gunman would enter the store, force an employee into the manager’s station, and then rob the employees before fleeing through the rear exit. Teeter and her co-conspirator, identified as Michael Robinson, would take turns posing as the “victim” manager on duty, knowing that the robberies were being captured on internal surveillance footage.

The robberies, which occurred on July 18, 2023, Aug. 2, 2023, Sept. 2, 2023, Nov. 10, 2023, Dec. 4, 2023, Jan. 9, 2024, and Feb. 11, 2024, led the Chinatown Walgreens to hire armed special police officers for security. However, during the Dec. 4, 2023, and Feb. 11, 2024 robberies, Teeter’s co-conspirators stole firearms from the officers, further compounding the criminal activity.

In addition to her role in the theft, Teeter admitted to reviewing surveillance footage from an Aug. 2, 2023 robbery, during which a co-conspirator briefly placed his firearm on a chair. Teeter later texted a co-conspirator, saying, “the vid looks so bad,” and “idk why he put the gun down.” She further stated, “he can’t do it next time,” expressing concern over the actions of one of her co-conspirators.

Teeter and her co-conspirators split at least $28,983 as a result of their crimes. Trial dates are currently pending for the remaining co-conspirators: Michael Robinson, 34; Kamanye Williams, 25; and Gianni Robinson, 27.

This case highlights the seriousness of inside-job robberies, where individuals use their trusted positions to plan and execute crimes from within an organization.
