Warehouse Manager, Partner Caught in Meth Parcel Scheme

On June 17, Bangkok police arrested a warehouse manager, Nichapat, and her partner, Kan, both employees of the same logistics company, for allegedly inserting 1,200 methamphetamine pills into a delivery parcel.

The case unfolded following a report to the 191 radio centre on June 16, when a woman in Min Buri district received a parcel containing six bags of methamphetamine. Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom instructed the Min Buri police to broaden their investigation into drug trafficking via parcels.

During the inquiry, police discovered the phone number 096-109-44XX contacting the recipient, asking to reclaim the parcel due to a packing error. Police devised a sting operation, arranging a meeting at a petrol station.

Nichapat, the owner of the phone number, appeared to collect the parcel. Under questioning, she admitted that the methamphetamine belonged to her partner, Kan, who worked at a warehouse in Saphan Sung. Kan had directed her to retrieve the parcel after a mix-up.

Police escorted Nichapat to the warehouse, where Kan was found closing for the day. Upon confrontation, Kan confessed to possessing the methamphetamine and explained that while replacing a damaged customer parcel, he mistakenly included drugs meant for another customer. He then instructed Nichapat to contact the customer to recover the parcel.

Both suspects were charged with possession and intent to distribute a category 1 narcotic. They confessed and were handed over to Min Buri police for prosecution, as reported by KhaoSod.
