Vittal police have arrested Riyaz (38) of Boliyar Dharmanagar and Imtiyaz (38) of Halekote in connection with the theft of gas cylinders from houses in Mittur and Kodaje. The police also seized stolen household items, including the gas cylinders worth Rs1.35 lakhs, along with an autorickshaw used in the crime.
The arrests were made following a detailed investigation into the theft incidents. The two suspects were caught after they were found in possession of several stolen gas cylinders and household articles. The police have now recovered the stolen property, including the autorickshaw, used to transport the stolen goods.
Further investigations are underway to determine if the accused are involved in other thefts in the area. The arrested individuals are currently in police custody, and the police are working to return the stolen property to its rightful owners.
