Vero Beach Drug Bust Leads to Arrest of Three for Fentanyl, Cocaine

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) – A drug bust in Vero Beach has resulted in the arrest of three individuals following complaints from local residents. The Vero Beach Police Department, along with the Sebastian Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at 1813 36th Ave on Tuesday, where they arrested Michael Knight, Philip Carlsward, and Adriana Koester.

During the search, officers discovered 8.9 grams of fentanyl, along with marijuana, cocaine, medical pills, and various drug paraphernalia, including syringes, glass pipes, and plastic bags.

Knight, the homeowner, admitted to possessing, using, and dealing fentanyl. He also confessed to attempting to dispose of the drug during the search. Carlsward, a convicted felon, was found with ammunition and drug paraphernalia, while Koester was arrested for possessing drug-related items.

The charges include:

Michael Knight: Trafficking fentanyl, possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, and drug paraphernalia.
Philip Carlsward: Possession of weapons/ammo by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia.
Adriana Koester: Possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation continues as authorities tackle the growing fentanyl crisis in the area.
