Venezuelan National Arrested in El Paso for Alleged Fraud and Misuse of Documents

El Paso, Texas — Alcides Jose Urrivari-Arape, a Venezuelan national, was arrested last Monday on criminal charges related to fraud and the misuse of official documents. Urrivari-Arape was stopped by an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputy, leading to an investigation involving U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) assistance.

According to court documents, after being pulled over, Urrivari-Arape allegedly presented a fraudulent U.S. Social Security card to the USBP agent, claiming that the document allowed him to legally remain in the United States. The suspect reportedly admitted to paying $690 for the fake ID.

If convicted, Urrivari-Arape faces up to 10 years in federal prison for his involvement in the fraudulent activities.
