In a significant breakthrough, Srinagar police have arrested two men involved in a theft case and recovered stolen gold from their possession. The arrests stem from a theft complaint lodged on the night of November 18/19, 2024, in Chandpora, Harwan.
Police utilized CCTV footage and technical evidence to apprehend the suspects. During questioning, Umar Shafi Dar, a resident of Ghat, Shalimar, revealed that the second suspect was Adil Shabir Khan, who was then arrested.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Muhammad Maqbool Dar, a goldsmith running a shop in Pulwama. From his possession, police recovered stolen gold weighing 84.02 grams, valued at Rs 5.71 lakh.
The police continue to probe the case to identify any further links to the crime.
