Hephzibah, Ga. (WJBF) – Tyrone Gaynor Jr. was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday after being linked to multiple reports of suspicious behavior at Diamond Lakes Regional Park. Gaynor, 39, faces misdemeanor stalking charges following complaints from several women who reported being followed while walking or running.
Sabrina Sanchez, a regular at the park, shared her concerns about walking alone. “I always bring my dog or some form of protection now,” Sanchez said. “It’s daytime, but I won’t take any chances anymore.”
Rose Arthur, another park-goer, emphasized the importance of safety but continued to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors. “Diamond Lake is a safe place to walk. The more people we have out here, the safer we can all be,” she stated.
Gaynor’s prior arrest in August 2023 for misdemeanor assault and battery is still pending trial. Both Sanchez and Arthur noted that seeing law enforcement patrolling the park brings comfort. “I appreciate the sheriff’s department being vigilant and present,” Sanchez said.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about harassment or stalking at the park to contact the Criminal Investigations Division.
