Tyler Wade Myers Arrested for Attempted Murder and Theft in Mt. Shasta

A man was arrested on Saturday evening near Yreka after a violent incident and vehicle theft in Mt. Shasta. The Mt. Shasta Police Department issued a “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) alert, leading to the apprehension of 33-year-old Tyler Wade Myers.

At around 5:30 p.m., a 9-1-1 caller reported that her nephew, Myers, had unlawfully entered her home, strangled her, and stolen her vehicle. Officers responded immediately, providing assistance to the victim and gathering information that led them to believe the stolen vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 5.

The vehicle was located near Walters Lane, south of Yreka. Myers was arrested by officers from the California Highway Patrol, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, and Mt. Shasta Police Department. Although he briefly resisted, he was taken into custody without further incident.

Myers is currently in custody at the Siskiyou County Jail. Authorities are asking anyone with more information to contact the Mt. Shasta Police Department at (530) 926-7540, referencing case number 25-000033.
