Tyler Collins and Austin Ziglar Charged in Cedric Adkins’ Murder

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Two individuals have been arrested and charged in the fatal stabbing of 63-year-old Cedric Adkins, who was found dead near the woods at Hurst and Clay Street on May 2.

Tyler Collins and Austin Ziglar face charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to arrest warrants. Authorities allege the pair stabbed Adkins and then stole his cell phone before fleeing the scene.

Both men made their initial court appearances and are currently being held without bond. Each requested the appointment of a public defender.

The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to determine the full circumstances behind the deadly attack.
