Two Ugandans and Customer Arrested in Hyderabad Brothel Raid

In a successful operation on Sunday, Hyderabad Police arrested two Ugandan nationals and a customer during a raid on a brothel in Nagarjuna Nagar, Tarnaka. The action was carried out based on reliable information by the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, Hyderabad City, in collaboration with Osmania University Police and the Women’s staff.

The raid targeted a brothel operating under the jurisdiction of the Osmania University Police Station. The police have filed a case under various sections of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including trafficking of persons (Section 143), exploitation of trafficked individuals (Section 144(2)), and organized crime (Section 111). Additionally, sections 3 and 4 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act were invoked.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 42-year-old Nayebare Doreen and 22-year-old Komuhangi Ritah, both Ugandan nationals. Nayebare Doreen had rented a house in Nagarjuna Nagar four months ago and had been operating the brothel with the assistance of Ritah. The two had been using online platforms, including ‘Locanto,’ to advertise their services and share the brothel’s location with clients only after they arrived at Nagarjuna Colony.

During the raid, the police seized significant evidence, including 160 unused condoms, one used condom, Rs 12,190 in cash, and five mobile phones. The operation was led by K. Saidulu, Inspector of Police, along with SIs Srinivasulu Dasu, P. Gnanadeep, and C. Raghavender Reddy from the North Zone Task Force, as well as N. Rajender, the Inspector of Osmania University Police Station.
