Two Notorious Criminals Arrested for Armed Robbery at Delhi University Professor’s House

The Crime Branch arrested two notorious criminals, Suraj (32) and Sachin (29), in connection with an armed robbery that took place at the house of a Delhi University professor in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on February 17. The arrests were made in the Ghaziabad area. Two other suspects, Monu and Amit, have been identified but remain absconding, with raids ongoing to apprehend them.

According to DCP (Crime) Aditya Gautam, Suraj alias Akhil is a history-sheeter from the Surajpur area near Noida and has been named in 17 cases. Sachin, on the other hand, has been involved in 14 cases, including crimes such as robbery, dacoity, attempt to murder, gambling, and theft across various police stations in the NCR. Police managed to recover the stolen articles from the recent robbery and also found the Honda Accord car, which the robbers had stolen and later abandoned.

Investigations revealed that Sachin had meticulously planned the heist for months, assembling a team of skilled robbers. His minor girlfriend, who worked as a domestic help in the professor’s house, tipped him off about the presence of cash and jewellery. The robbers then seized the opportunity and carried out the robbery.

The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects, Monu and Amit, as they work to solve this case further.
