Two Nigerian Nationals Arrested with Rs5.62 Crore Drugs in Taloja

In a major drug bust, Taloja police arrested two Nigerian nationals on Sunday and seized contraband worth Rs5.62 crore from their rented flat. The operation was carried out by a joint team from the Taloja police and anti-narcotics cell.

The arrested individuals, Onyeka Hillary Ilodinso (25) and Chidiebere Christopher Muoghalu (40), were found in possession of 2.42 kg of Mephedrone (MD) and 174 grams of Cocaine. The drugs were seized from a room in Shirke Building, Taloja.

As investigations progressed, authorities discovered that the property owners had violated legal requirements by renting the flat to foreign nationals. The owners failed to complete the mandatory Form C, which is necessary when leasing property to non-citizens, and there was no formal rental agreement in place. This oversight has prompted authorities to file a case against the flat owners.

“The two arrested individuals entered India on business visas with the intention of selling clothes. However, their visas expired four years ago, and their stay in the country is now considered illegal,” said a police officer. Additionally, two more Nigerian nationals, identified as Cisse Sadio and Naava Zainah, are being sought in connection with the drug trade.

Both Ilodinso and Muoghalu have been presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Police are awaiting election duty completion to request further police custody.
