Two Nepali Nationals Arrested for Mobile Phone Theft in Hyderabad

The S R Nagar police arrested two individuals on Thursday in connection with a mobile phone theft ring operating in Hyderabad. The accused, identified as Govind Bhandari (24) and Hikmath Rawal, both natives of Nepal, were working at fast food centers in the city.

According to police officials, the duo would target hostels during the early morning hours, stealing mobile phones while the inmates were either asleep or occupied with their daily routines. The stolen phones were then taken away by the suspects.

Police have recovered 51 mobile phones based on the statements of the accused, who are believed to have been involved in multiple theft cases in the city over the past six months. The stolen phones were likely sold through a black-market network.

Both Bhandari and Rawal were produced before the court and have been remanded into judicial custody.
