Two Men Charged with Grand Larceny for Forged Check Theft

On October 24, 2024, deputies were called to Schmidt’s Wholesale in Monticello to investigate a reported theft of construction materials. Authorities learned that on October 17, two suspects allegedly acquired materials valued at $8,384.02 using a forged check drawn from a closed bank account. After a two-week investigation, the suspects, Anthony Sacadura, 55, and Paul Nikola, 35, turned themselves in to the Sheriff’s Office. Both men face charges of Grand Larceny 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. They were released and are scheduled to appear in the Village of Monticello Court on November 18, 2024.
