Two Men Arrested in Jasper County Drug Bust Involving 8-Year-Old

JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – Two men are in custody following a traffic stop in Jasper County that uncovered drugs in a vehicle carrying an 8-year-old child.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, a Jasper County deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 190 for expired registration. After making the stop, the deputy had reason to request a search of the vehicle, according to a release from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search, the deputy found two bags containing a substance believed to be crystal meth. The release also revealed that an 8-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Cody Allen Mick, 38, of Jasper, and Jerad Kyle Edwards-Green, 28, of Silsbee, were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering a child. The child was later released to a family member.
