Two Men Arrested After Fleeing Stolen Vehicle and Crashing in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, Fla. — Isaac King II, 22, and Terrance Thornton, 20, were arrested early on Saturday, December 28, 2024, after they allegedly fled from a traffic stop in a stolen Toyota Tundra and crashed into another vehicle.

According to Lauderhill police, officers spotted the stolen truck around 3 a.m. in the area of 3100 West Sunrise Boulevard. The police initiated a felony traffic stop and requested assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office aviation unit to safely conduct the stop at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Griffin Road.

When the officers began to exit their vehicles, King, the driver, attempted to flee. The stolen vehicle crashed into another car shortly afterward, though authorities have not confirmed if there were any injuries in the crash.

King and Thornton reportedly fled on foot after the crash, but they were later located and arrested. King was charged with grand theft auto, fleeing/eluding police, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest without violence. Thornton, who was a passenger, was found to have multiple active felony warrants.

Both suspects are currently being held at the Broward County Main Jail.
