Two Kerala Men Arrested for Housebreak in Coimbatore, GPS Tracker Used

In a significant breakthrough, Coimbatore police have arrested Zaheer Hussain (49) and M. Monish (24), two men from Palakkad, Kerala, in connection with a housebreak where 50 sovereigns of jewellery were stolen. The duo is accused of discreetly placing a GPS tracking device on the victim’s vehicle to track his movements before executing the robbery.

The incident came to light when Kumar (43), a resident of East Sambandam Road, R.S. Puram, filed a complaint on October 22, stating that unknown persons had broke open his house and stolen 50 sovereigns of jewellery. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the thieves had been monitoring the victim’s movements using the GPS tracker, which helped them execute the crime when the victim was away.

After gathering crucial evidence, the police arrested Zaheer Hussain and Monish and recovered part of the stolen jewellery. The authorities are continuing to investigate the duo’s involvement in other similar crimes, as they suspect the men may have been involved in previous thefts in the region.

This case underscores the increasing sophistication of criminals using modern technology like GPS devices to plan and execute their crimes. Coimbatore police have urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their areas to help curb such crimes.
