GREENVILLE, N.C. — Ulises Lopez and Ismael Sandoval, both 40, remain behind bars after their arrest in a significant drug bust involving methamphetamine trafficking. Authorities say the two men were involved in a Mexico-based drug operation.

The arrest followed a month-long investigation by the Greenville Regional Drug Task Force, working alongside the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. The operation culminated in a traffic stop on Greenville Boulevard on January 16th, where law enforcement seized approximately 60 pounds of crystal meth, also known as “ice.” The street value of the drugs is estimated at $500,000.

Both men were charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and face $4 million bonds each.

Authorities continue to investigate the large-scale operation that disrupted a significant drug network in the region.
