On Tuesday, excise officials intercepted a car at the Sason toll gate on the outskirts of the city, leading to the seizure of 60 kg of ganja valued at Rs 6 lakh. The two individuals traveling in the vehicle, Bitu Kumar (22) and Madhu Kumar (20), both hailing from Chatra district in Jharkhand, were promptly arrested.
The arrest was made during a routine checkpoint operation at the toll gate. The suspects were found with the large quantity of contraband in their possession, which was subsequently seized for further investigation.
Officials believe this is part of a larger drug trafficking operation and are continuing their inquiries into the case. The arrested individuals are currently in custody, and legal actions are being pursued.
