The Shahkot police have arrested an individual, Gagan from Dhandowal village, on charges of consuming heroin. Investigating Officer (IO) Buta Ram confirmed the arrest, stating that a lighter, silver paper, and a plastic pipe used for consuming the drug were recovered from the accused’s possession. A case under Sections 27/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been filed against Gagan.
In a separate incident, Kulwindar Singh (alias Gagi) of Burj Hassan village was arrested by the Bilga police for consuming heroin. IO Kulwindar Singh stated that the arrest was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse in the region.
Both arrests are part of the authorities’ continued crackdown on drug-related offenses under the NDPS Act.
