Two Arrested in Rs1.5 Crore Bogus Paddy Procurement Scam

A new paddy procurement scam has emerged in Rewa’s Semariya region, involving fraudulent records showing the procurement of paddy worth Rs1.5 crore. The scam, taking place at the Hinauta Number 2 procurement center, was uncovered after officials reported discrepancies in the procurement process.

Police have registered a case against three individuals, with two arrested so far, including Gajendra Singh (29) and Satyarth Pathak (31). The third main accused remains at large.

According to the police, around 5,000 quintals of paddy were falsely shown as procured in official records. However, due to prompt action, payments for these bogus transactions have not been processed, preventing further loss to the government.

The investigation is ongoing, with the authorities working to apprehend the remaining suspect and unravel the full scope of the scam.
