Two men from Moreno Valley, California, were arrested in connection with an organized retail theft ring that targeted local businesses in Riverside County.
Maclean Andrew Short, 35, and Jesus Miguel Robles, 47, were taken into custody following an investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation, which began on September 7, 2024, revealed that over $22,000 worth of goods had been stolen from various businesses in the Moreno Valley area.
On February 12, 2025, authorities executed search warrants at multiple locations across Moreno Valley, including Robles’ home in the 2500 block of Silent Creek Road. During the searches, detectives recovered a large quantity of stolen merchandise, including designer sunglasses, electric scooters, and other high-value items connected to the theft ring.
Both Robles and Short were arrested on charges of burglary, grand theft, and organized retail theft. Short also faces additional charges related to a probation violation.
Riverside County Sheriff’s officials emphasized their commitment to combatting organized retail crime, stating that the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) is dedicated to ensuring the safety of local businesses and residents.
