The accused, identified as Imam Ahmed Raja (27) from Muslimpada, Sundargarh district, and Mohammad Abu Talha (29) from Rourkela’s Plantsite area, were detained after authorities intercepted their vehicle, based on intelligence reports. Upon searching the car, officials discovered the drugs hidden inside.
The duo was transporting the brown sugar from Rourkela to Puri. Following their arrest, both individuals were denied bail and remanded to Puri Jail. The seizure is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, with authorities ramping up surveillance and operations to prevent such illegal activities.
