The Patamata police made a significant drug bust on October 17, 2024, arresting Murthy and Vinesh Kumar, two smugglers from Tamil Nadu. The police team, acting on a tip-off, intercepted the suspects near Ramavarappadu Ring Road and seized a total of 145 kg of ganja, a countmade pistol, and six bullets from their possession.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Maheswar Raju, the seizure was part of an ongoing effort to crack down on the drug trade and illegal firearms trafficking in the region. The police were able to apprehend the suspects before they could distribute the narcotics, which are believed to be linked to a larger trafficking network.
Both suspects have been taken into custody and are currently being interrogated by the authorities. The police are working to gather further intelligence and investigate the broader scope of the operation to identify other individuals involved in this illegal trade.
