Two Arrested in McKinleyville for Stealing Fencing

McKinleyville, Calif. — Aaron Gamble and Lindsey Kauffman, both 39 and residents of McKinleyville, were arrested after being caught stealing fencing from a private property on Central Avenue on Saturday, November 16.

Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to a report of theft before noon that day. Witnesses had observed a man and woman taking fencing from a private property and loading it into a tan pickup truck. The HCSO confirmed the theft after reviewing security footage from a nearby home.

Investigators determined that over $950 worth of fencing had been stolen. Deputies traced the truck to a nearby residence and arrested both suspects without incident. The stolen fencing was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

Gamble and Kauffman were booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime. Kauffman was also charged with an additional probation violation.

This arrest highlights the swift actions of the HCSO in addressing property crimes and ensuring that stolen goods are returned to their rightful owners.
